The internet has a huge impact on the students’ learning. I use two internet based programs to drill, review, and test new as well as older material to my High Schoolers. The internet is full of places where learning can be fun. I like using those sites as rewards so the students feel it is privilege and will work hard in other areas to earn the right to play on a certain Web 2.0 site. They know they are learning, but the ‘privilege’ idea makes it so they have earned the visit thus they will work for it for the class time or the week.
This module has shown me so many new resources to show my students when helping them learn new concepts. I believe that as society is moving into technology more and more our students need to know how and where to go on the internet to find information. They need to learn internet safety and need to know that not everything they read if true.
I LOVE using the internet in my classroom. It gives students great and vital information in a blink! So many great resources are available and we really need to be emphasizing this with our students. Ready or not, internet is taking over our classrooms 🙂
My eyes have been opened to so many new websites with tools that will make life easier for teachers and students. I am excited to use these tools and share them with my daughter who is in middle school.
There is so much to learn when it comes to internet technology. Full of information to make learning fun, fun !!!. I love the sites and the many resources. Teaching and learning don’t have to be boring.
I really didn’t realize how many resources, websites, and tools are available on the internet! I have discovered many valuable resources on the internet thanks to this module and class. I’m on the internet everyday and have always considered myself a good researcher, but my eyes have been opened! I feel like I am a bit behind on the times which is odd because I don’t consider myself to be “old”. This class has been really valuable to me.
The web 2.0 resources are extensive, but we also need to remember that they need to be tested prior to using them with the class. Always try the activity on your classroom computers and network to make sure they run properly. Also, it would be a good idea to have a back-up activity just in case they do not work on the day that you have planned it. 🙂
I have always used the internet as a researching tool for planning activities for my students. This is really the first time I will be planning a unit that gives students the chance to do activities and conduct their own research using the internet. It is one of the most powerful tools of communication we have and students should be taught to respect it and not abuse it. The internet has such a wide range of resources that can improve my teaching skills and hopefully the learning skills of my students!

This module has me excited to use the internet more in my classroom. It has also made me more conscious of copyright laws and internet safety.
